As usual, lots to do this weekend in B-more, but I would like to draw your attention to two things in particular.
Friday, April 24th is Kane Mayfield’s ‘Return Of Rap Show’ at Metro Gallery, located at 1700 North Charles Street.
Kane, or “Yella Custard” as he is affectionately known to a select few of us, is following up the very successful release of “The Return of Rap” with a show that will feature him performing songs from the project as well as brand new shit you’ve never heard. Equally yellow Deejay Harvey Dent will be in the house as well alongside Kane, and ALMOST as importantly, there will be FREE SAMMICHES and beverages!
Click here to purchase tickets for $10, and check out “White Collar” below. And if you have yet to purchase The Return of Rap, correct how you’re living your life by clicking here to purchase on iTunes or here to purchase on Google Play.
On Saturday, April 25th, The Speakerbox Open Mic (formerly the Speakerbox Slam) takes place at The Living Well at 2443 North Charles Street. Hosted by Alex Alexander, all word lovers are invited to come out, eat, drink, share a poem or two, enjoy the musical stylings of DJ Chuck Maddox AND to be enthralled by spoken word poetry legend Taalam Acey. Click here to purchase tickets for $15, and for those unfamiliar with Mr. Acey’s work, check out the clips below, THEN buy your ticket! Tix will also be available at the door.
See you around Baltimore this weekend!
