As much as I hate to use the horrible overworked phrase “grown and sexy”…*sigh*….I just used it, didn’t I?…it really is an accurate description for the quarterly variety show called Purple Honey. Featuring everything from live music to comedy to spoken word poetry, Purple Honey is an eclectic mix of the best in live entertainment for mature adults looking for an evening out that is filled with good words, good music and good times.
Purple Honey is the brainchild of composer, producer, and musician Kier Johnson, and there have been twelve Purple Honey concerts since its inception. Hosted by Larry Lancaster and Ellen Gee, The Purple Honey Concert Series has become one of the hottest tickets in the area. Prior performers have included Marc Evans, Ama Chandra, Komplex, E The Poet Emcee, Tony Woods. Maimouna Youssef and Krystle Est. Kier and crew put a great deal of effort into making every Purple Honey show an event to remember — and tomorrow’s show, “Purple Honey XIII” is no exception. It takes place at Magooby’s, 9603 Deereco Road, Timonium, Maryland.
Typically Purple Honey shows sell out in advance, but rumor has it there may be a FEW tickets left for Sunday’s show. I strongly suggest you purchase them in advance — taking your chances at the door is not a good idea. You can check out the Facebook event page for details, or click here to purchase general admission tickets for $30.
