The Floacist, AKA Natalie Stewart AKA one half of musical/poetic Grammy-nominated early 2000’s supergroup Floetry, has always had strong connections to Baltimore’s spoken word and underground music scenes — one of her previous projects, “The Floacist Presents Spoken Soul” featured talents like Archie The Messenger, 13 of Nazareth, Kissi B., and David “Native Son” Ross of The 5th L and was recorded at several recording studios around Bmore.
Her latest upcoming release, “Rise of the Phoenix Mermaid” will be available March 18th. The first single from it, “Feel Good” already has a music video in place by director Ja-Mar Jones and includes Baltimore veteran of performance poetry Komplex as The Floacist’s love interest. And as a bonus, take a listen to “Prophecy”, a house music meets spoken word collaboration between The Floacist and MoRece of Stinkiface Music.
